The shifts and time offs in 'days' feature allows you to schedule time slots in days, half days, and quarter days, as well as create time offs the same way.
This feature also allows you to record of days worked in your employees' attendance sheets.
1- Enable calculation in days for my employees
This feature must be enabled individually in your employees' profiles.
To do this, simply go to an employee's profile and follow these steps:
Click on "Settings"
Enable "Calculate in days"
Enter the length of a day for this employee (in hours).
2- Creating a shift calculated as a 'day'
When you create a shift for an employee who has the setting "calculate in days" enabled, you will need to choose between "full day," "half day," and "quarter day" to set a duration, as well as indicate a start time.
The start time will not be visible on the schedule. Both you and your employee will only see the length of the day based on the option selected previously.
Please also note that the calculation of hours will now be done in days for this employee.
At any time, you can disable the calculation in days for a specific shift by unchecking this option. You will then be able to enter the start and end times for this shift without affecting the calculation in days for other shifts.
3- Managing time offs in days
When your employees, for whom the calculation in days is activated, request leave, they will have the option of choosing between a full day, half day, or quarter day.
When approving leave, you will then see the balances in the time bank in days.
4- Management of timesheets in days
In the timesheets, you will need to display the subtotal of hours in order to see the calculation in days.
By default, the start and end times will be displayed in the timesheet along with the calculation of hours, except for leave calculated in days.
However, in the summary of your timesheets, you will see the total in days or hours, depending on the type of calculation selected for each employee.
